The holidays are upon us and the temperatures have dropped which has us thinking about red wine. Serious red wine. Red wine that makes you stop for a moment and wallow in the long, lingering finish of a beautifully made Barolo.

 

We’ll be compiling a list of some suggested pairings for your Thanksgiving feast in the coming weeks (keep an eye out for it at our Jericho location!) but in the meantime…here are a few favorites already on our shelves

Remelluri Rioja 2015

  • 85% Tempranillo 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano

  • Aged 21 months in oak and another 5 years in bottle, sultry and elegant…Rioja like you’ve never had before

Monte dall’Ora Vino Nato Disobbediente Valpolicella

  • Biodynamic blend of 50% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Molinara/Oseleta

  • A light, easy drinking take on Valpolicella “formerly and mainly just a wine produced for the family and their friends”

Forge Cellars Cabernet Franc

  • Single vineyard Cabernet Franc

  • Vines planted 2016, “dark and voluptuous” without the green character one might find in a Cab Franc from the Loire Valley

Giulia Negri Marassio Barolo 

  • Single vineyard Barolo from the highest point in the region

  • Vines planted in 2004/2006, aged 30 months in Slavonian oak
